THE GREATER NEWBURYPORT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY
In 2016, the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce & Industry is celebrating its 50th anniversary! A remarkable accomplishment for our community. To mark the occasion, the Chamber has planned a contest for the cover of its 50th Anniversary Guidebook. The contest is open to the Newburyport Art Association artist members and non-member artists – artists are invited to submit a work for consideration for the cover of the guidebook. The Chamber requests images that celebrate the aesthetic beauty of the greater Newburyport area. Works may be two-dimensional or three-dimensional.
The Guidebook is distributed to 40,000 residents and visitors during 2016. The winning artwork will be showcased on the cover and the artist will receive a $250 Newburyport Gift Card and a Newburyport Art Association one-year membership.
The deadline for the artist’s Intent to Participate is Monday, November 16, 2015. Artists should email their Intent to Participate to Elena Bachrach, Executive Director, NAA.
Digital images – one image per artist, or three if the work is three-dimensional – are due Monday, January 11, 2016. All digital images (resolution should be 300 dpi and the image size a minimum of 14″ x 14″) should also be emailed to Elena Bachrach.
The Chamber’s Cover Contest Jury Committee will select ten finalists on Thursday, January 21. The ten finalists will be required to bring their work to the NAA by Friday, February 19. The winning selection will be announced on March 10. The NAA will install an exhibition of all ten finalists’ works March 8-20. The show reception and the NAA’s Chamber Member Mixer will be held on Thursday, March 10 in the Hills Gallery at the Newburyport Art Association.
It should be understood that the winning entry will become the property of the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Photo credit/bio will be published in the guidebook.
Please contact Ann Ormond, President of the Chamber, Elena Bachrach, Executive Director of the Newburyport Art Association if you have any questions. We look forward to your participation.
